DESCRIPTION:We are swimming upstream when it comes to positive body image.  Hounded with unattainable White Western standards about what constitutes an acceptable body\, we can get stuck in avoiding things we care about–like intimacy\, movement\, or social engagements. In this presentation\, Diana Hill will offer a fresh perspective on body image. What does it really mean to practice body acceptance? How can you pursue the life you want with the body you have? Drawing on strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Training and Compassionate Mind Training\, Diana will explore how to help you choose courage over avoidance and willingness over control.
