Wanting Things To Be Different: Integrating Buddhism, modern psychology and stress science to thrive amidst adversity

Are you feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or unsure about how to live in such unpredictable times? Do you wish things were different than they are?

Join InsightLA founder Trudy Goodman with visiting teachers Elissa Epel and Diana Hill to learn the tools and practices that can help you let go of trying to control the uncontrollable, and take action where you can to find peace and equanimity.

Wishing Things Were Different

“If only things were different, then I would be at peace.” We’ve all made the mistake of taking this perspective. But change, uncertainty and discomfort are here to stay. So, how can we find ease within, even amidst adversity?

In this free, 4-hour special event, Insight LA founder Trudy Goodman brings the wisdom born of decades of Buddhist practice to offer teachings that can help us manage the stress, pain and suffering that arises from trying to manage the feeling of uncertainty.

Trudy is joined by UCSF professor and author of The Stress Prescription, Elissa Epel. Drawing from the science of stress, Elissa teaches evidence-based principles that can help us live with greater peace and ease.

Diana Hill, psychologist and host of Your Life in Process, will assist us in exploring processes from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) that can help enhance willingness, openness and the commitment to engage in what we care about most.
