Are you feeling anxious about AI taking over your job? You’re not alone. We will explore that today on The Wise Effort Show with Morra Aarons-Mele in this repost of her episode, in which she interviews me about what to do about AI anxiety on The Anxious Achiever podcast.

When Morra reached out to interview me for her podcast, The Anxious Achiever, about AI anxiety, my first reaction was, “I don’t know anything about AI. I’m the worst person for you to interview.” But then I paused and realized I know a lot about anxiety. 

And when we look at anxiety, whether it’s anxiety about AI, about the election, about your kids, or a health diagnosis, it tends to have similar impacts on us in terms of the way that we can get rigid in our thinking, caught up in a story, avoid things, use our energy up in ways that, deplete us. There are wise effort pathways—psychologically flexible pathways—that can help.

While interviewing me, she was doing the exact thing that I want all of you to do: turn your energy around. Morra discloses in this podcast interview that she’s anxious about AI, and that’s actually what motivated her to do this whole series on the Anxious Achiever on AI, not just about AI anxiety but all sorts of things related to AI.

Morra confronts her anxiety head-on, doing it in a psychologically flexible way and, in the process, helping all of us—with ours. That is a wise effort. So listen for that.
